In Loving Memory of Eugene Frank Cretella Jr. August 16, 1984 – July 20, 2026 With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Eugene Frank Cretella Jr., who entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on August 16, 1984, in Staten Island, New York, Eugene was the beloved son of the late Eugene Frank Cretella Sr. and Florence Cretella. Eugene graduated from Raritan High School in Hazlet Township and spent his life working hard to provide for those he loved. Throughout the years, he worked in sales with Metro Marketing, spent many memorable years at Pool World—where countless stories and lifelong friendships were made—and later worked in construction with Caldwell and Walsh. Most recently, Eugene fulfilled a dream by starting his own painting business, a career he genuinely loved and took great pride in. Above all else, Eugene was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy in life was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Shikira, and was a proud father to Naomi Janae (16), Damon Frank (15), and Alonzo Renard (2). Whether spending time together, making his family laugh, or simply being present, Eugene's love for them was unwavering and unconditional. Eugene had a passion for fishing, cars, and music. He could often be found enjoying time outdoors, talking about cars, or listening to his favorite songs. He found happiness in simple things and had an incredible ability to make those around him smile. Those who knew Eugene will remember him for his genuine spirit, infectious smile, playful sense of humor, and heart of gold. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or be there for someone in need. His kindness, generosity, and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. A Christian in faith, Eugene believed in God's love and grace. While his passing leaves an unimaginable void in the hearts of his family and friends, they find comfort knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Shikira; his children, Naomi Janae, Damon Frank, and Alonzo Renard; his mother, Florence Cretella; his sisters, Valerie Vairo and her husband John, Donna DeCarlo, Jean Kelly and Pat North and her husband Kent; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and everyone whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Frank Cretella Sr., and his brother, Kevin.
