Frank J. Way Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Frank J. Way Jr. God came for him on December 9, 2022, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving father who cared deeply for us and always gave us all the love in his heart. Frank worked long, hard hours driving a taxicab in Keansburg, NJ so his family could make ends meet. Despite his exhaustion trying to support his family, he found a way to make time to be with his children and family. We will always remember his infectious laughter and humble spirit. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things of life like going to church, spending time with his family, playing baseball with us, watching his favorite sport teams the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, playing the drums, listening to heavy metal and rock and roll music, and just enjoying a can of Mountain Dew and a hot dog or hamburger. He always cared for others more than he cared for himself and would do anything for us. He always showed us his love and made sure we knew he cared about us. We could hear his love and care in his gentle voice. Frank knew the Lord and loved Jesus. He attended Whiting Bible Fellowship Church in Whiting, NJ and enjoyed worshipping the Lord with all his heart. Our father will be deeply missed and always cherished in our hearts and souls till the day we are together again with the Lord in Heaven. God rest his soul, and may he always know he is remembered here by those who knew and loved him. We know he is with us from Heaven, and we will forever carry him with love and honor in our hearts. May he bask in God’s glory in Heaven and rest in the Lord’s love, joy, peace, and grace in his new heavenly home free from sorrow, worry, and pain. He won his battle with cancer through Jesus the moment he took his last breath here and his first in his new body in Heaven. He left this world with his son Frank by his side and knowing he was loved and cared for by those closest to him. We praise God for being gracious to our father throughout his life and for giving us everlasting life in His son Jesus Christ our Lord. Because of Jesus, our hearts are filled with hope and peace through this sad time in our lives. We know Heaven is our home and we are just passing through here. Dad, you made it safely home with Jesus. Praise God we will join you one day and see your smiling face once again! We can’t wait to hug and kiss you once more in God’s presence! God bless you Dad- we love and honor you forever! Frank was predeceased by his beloved mother Mildred Berth, sisters Elaine, Kathleen, and Karen, and brother Richard Way. Frank leaves behind his two beloved children Jean Thornberry and husband Mickey, and Frank Way and wife Melissa. He also leaves behind his five beloved grandchildren Jordan Way, Jeremy Way, Justin Way, Gianna Way, and Kaden Way. A celebration of life for our father Frank will take place at Laurel Funeral Home located at 201 Laurel Avenue in Hazlet Township NJ on December 17, 2022 from 2-4pm. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to cover the funeral costs. We also request that all honor our father’s memory by loving their children with all their hearts and spending time enjoying the simple things of life with them like our father graciously did with us.
