Betty Jane Spahn

Betty Jane Spahn, 82, of Middletown, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, surrounded by her large loving family. Her tremendous caring and fun loving spirit will be fondly remembered. She was a gift to her family, who were so fortunate to have her in their lives. She lived in Jersey City prior to moving to Middletown. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine’s Church. After retiring from RCA in Harrison, with 25 years of service, she worked as a bookkeeper for Peter Freund Knitting in Union City. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Spahn, and two sisters Patricia Palmer, and Barbara DeRea. Surviving are her devoted brother, Joseph Spahn, and loving sisters, Irene Marshall and Mary Lou Kanecke. She was the loving Aunt to 16 nieces and nephews, Maureen, Kevin, Diane, Michael, Jack, Danny, Stephen, Jody, Susan, Patti, Terri, Beverly, Colleen, Tommy, Denise, Kathleen, and their spouses; and was cherished by her 30 great nieces and great nephews. Betty Jane was very proud of her family and actively participated in the everyday lives, of her siblings, nieces, nephews, and great nieces & great nephews. Family was truly the light of her life.
