Hector Gonzalez
March 11, 1983 - March 22, 2016
In memory of Hector Gonzalez. - 1983-2016 Hector was the middle child of Maria and Gus and brother to me and my sister Olivia. He was born in Secaucus NJ but our family moved to Hazlet when he was just 4 he was a smart kid that could tell time and read by the time he went to kindergarten. He graduated from Raritan HS and attended Brookdale and later Monmouth University. Hector always had a passion for sport, particularly football, a die hard Colts fan. At home Hector enjoyed cooking for his family and was amazing at it he could take any ingredients and make it a 5 star dish. Hector never asked for much from life, he was not in any way materialistic, he didn't aspire to possess things, he got his most pleasure from reading, playing video games or listening to music, of which he had a very wide appreciation for ranging from classical to rock and even a little Jazz. He was also very strong minded and had very strong personal views, but his views were his views, you were also entitled to your own opinions, and he could listen with an open mind to anything interesting you might have to say, but his views never swayed. He was also extremely patriotic and believed that the United States was the best country in the world and insisted on having a U.S. flag above his bed. He was also an animal lover nothing would make him happier than his dogs. They always put a smile on his face no matter how depressed or down he was his dogs could always cheer him up. Not only was he a loving son and brother, he was a kind and giving friend. Someone who was always a pleasure to be around. To have lost Tor is heartbreaking – it has come as such a shock to us all. His life was far too brief. I know he wasn't prepared for this and our family is devastated but we know God has his own special plan for his life now. We may not understand it but we are confident that he is now with our creator. My family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who have given their support, compassion and love throughout this very difficult time. I know in my heart that he would not want us to be grieving for too long. Rather, he would want us all to remember the good times we all shared with him. Words can never express how much you mean to us all and can never express how special and amazing you truly are. Goodbye, my little brother. You will live in our hearts forever.
