Irving Albert Mandeville, Jr. 88 (Buddy) of Oakhurst, NJ passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on April 9, 2020. He was born in El Paso, Texas in the Hotel Dieu. Raised in NJ, Buddy began to work at age 12 to support his mother after his father died. Buddy joined the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper and was ultimately stationed in Munich, Germany. He was taught by the Germans to operate a crane and from there obtained a job working for J.F. Kiely Construction Company, Long Branch, NJ in 1958 as a heavy equipment operator. Buddy retired in 1993 after 35 years. He was known by his coworkers as to have been the best operator they have ever seen. Buddy was a devoted father and friend to many and also to anyone who needed him. He was predeceased by his former wife Gerry in 2011. He leaves behind a daughter, Tracy Lee of Freehold, NJ and a son David Brett Mandeville and two granddaughters, Casey Rose age 15 and Riley Paige age 13 all of Oakhurst, NJ. Buddy also leaves behind his best friend and true love, Ann Neylon of Oakhurst, NJ with whom he spent nearly 29 years. A celebration of his life will be held in September, 2020. Arrangements are under the direction of Laurel Funeral Home, Hazlet, NJ. A graveside service will be held at a later date
