Joan V Coleman
January 3, 1934 - May 1, 2021
Joan Veronica Coleman, left this Earth on May 1st to go dancing in Heaven with the love of her life. After 56 years she will finally be reunited with her husband, Jack, for Eternity. Anyone who knew Joan (Jay) knew she was an amazing person who asked very little from anyone and gave to everyone. Words cannot describe how dearly she will be missed by those who loved her. Joan was born in Nutley, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Richard Coleman, her parents Thomas and Jane Kanaley as well as her sisters Dorothy, Madeline, Peggy, Irene, Ruth and her brother Tom. She leaves behind her sister Lorraine, her three daughters, Cheri, Colleen and Dorothy, her sons-in-law, Matty, Barney and Bob, whom she considered sons. She also leaves behind her most cherished grandchildren, Brian and Dana, Jennifer and Joseph, Eric and Joie and Sean as well as her great-grandchildren Aiden, Payten, Layla and Nathan. Joan became a widow at a very young age. With the help of her family, she managed to raise three children and gave them a great life. Words cannot express how blessed her daughters were to have such a loving mother. Joan worked for NJ Bell telephone Company in Hopelawn, New Jersey for 25 years. After retiring Joan became a snowbird in Florida where she enjoyed the warmer weather, riding her bike, swimming and her ladies club. Even though Joan disliked the cold weather, she always came home for Thanksgiving and Christmas in order to be with her family. Joan made every holiday so special. How grateful Joan's family is for those trips north that she made to share the holidays with her family. The memories we hold in our hearts are treasures that will be cherished forever. A private service will be held for the family. Anyone who wishes to make a donation in her name can do so to the following: St. Jude Children's Hospital Shriners Hospital for Children
