Mary Ann Hoffman

January 17, 1934 - May 25, 2022

Mary A. Hoffman, age 88, of Holmdel passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Charlotte, NC. She was born in Limerick, Ireland, and resided in Holmdel for 62 years. For the past five years, she resided in Charlotte, NC to be closer to family. She arrived in the United States in 1953 and became a United States citizen. From 1953 until 1955, she worked as an elevator operator at AT&T in New York City. She met the love of her life and was married to Walter C. Hoffman in City Island, NY from 1955 until his passing in 2009. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to six children. From 1991 until 2014, she worked as a recess monitor at Holmdel Village School in Holmdel, NJ. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary at North Centerville Fire Company, Hazlet. She and her husband were avid travelers of the United States. She is survived by her six children Walter T. Hoffman of Boynton Beach, FL, Carl Hoffman and his wife Jean of Temecula, CA, Teresa and her husband Frank Jasinski of Toms River, NJ, Margaret and her husband Scott Miller of Waxhaw, NC, Catherine and her husband Colin Wolfe of Greensboro, NC, and Eric Hoffman and his wife Amber of Limerick, Ireland. Mary is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Avenue, West Keansburg, NJ on Thursday, June 2, from 9-9:45am. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, NJ on Thursday, June 2 at 10am.
