Mildred E. Strbo

March 10, 1929 - March 14, 2022

Millie (Mildred) E. Strbo, 93, was finally reunited with her beloved husband of 66 years, Bill Strbo on Monday, March 14, 2022. Bill died in 2015 and Millie spent the last six years talking about how much she missed him. Millie passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune with her family near. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Millie met Bill Strbo, the love of her life on a blind date. After a whirlwind courtship, they married in June 1950. They were blessed first with a daughter Debra and then two sons, William, Jr. and Joseph in close succession. They moved to Hazlet, NJ in 1968. Millie lived a happy and fulfilling life as a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her adoring husband, children and grandchildren. She was an animal lover and had owned birds, turtles, cats and dogs throughout her life. She gave generously to animal shelters, the ASPCA among them. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Strbo Sr., her parents, Marie (Schmietle) and Edward Pahl, her brother Edward Pahl, Jr., her sister, Marie McBride and favorite brother-in-law, Ted McBride. She is survived by her children, Debbie and her husband Kenny Matyas, Bill, Jr. and his wife Cathy and Joe and his wife Ellie. She was Grammy to 4 grandchildren: Bill Strbo, III and his wife Kayla, David Strbo, Katie Poss and her husband Robert and Joe Strbo and his wife Madeline. She also leaves behind several friends, some of whom she met while accompanying her husband and daughter to their weekly bowling league. Visitation will be held at Laurel Funeral Home at 201 Laurel Ave. West Keansburg, NJ 07734 on Sunday, March 20th from 1pm-4pm. A private burial will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
