Phyllis M. Reed Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Phyllis M Reed, 93 of Hazlet NJ has peacefully entered the heavens to be with her beloved on January 25, 2021. She was born and raised in New York, NY where she met the love of her life during a black out in NYC during wartime. Phyllis and Walter were married on January 31st, 1945. They moved to 5th Street in Hazlet, NJ in 1967 where they spent the rest of their lives. Phyllis was a devoted & loving wife, amazing mother and phenomenal grandmother. Her and Walter raised 8 amazing children and had a hand in raising many of their 20 grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 75 years, Walter F. Reed and their daughter Kathleen Finn. Surviving are her loving children Patricia and Dave Kain, Son in law Bobby Finn, Joanne and Ken Loy, Walter and Bobbie Sue Reed, John and Donna Reed, Timothy and Donna Reed, Phyllis Reed, and Philip and Deborah Reed and her best friend and sister Theresa Maher, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great -great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews and her canine companion Winnie. She was also predeceased by her parents Philip and Josephine Nann, and her siblings Mildred, Josephine, and Agnes. Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, January 28th from 2-4PM and 7-9pm at Laurel Funeral home in Hazlet Township. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 29th at 11:30 am St. Ann’s Church in Keansburg. Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Cemetery, Hazlet.
