Warren D. Young Jr.

Warren D. Young Jr. passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. Surrounded by his loving family those whom he cherished every day of his life. A lifelong resident of Keansburg, the town he loved with all his heart. Warren was a Life Member of NPC and served for nearly fifty-five years, joining in February of 1966 and becoming a New Jersey State Exempt Firefighter in (est) 1973, in addition to being a United States Army Veteran. He was Chief of Department in 2011 and held many other titles and elected offices. Warren was a Life Member of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association, the Monmouth County Firemen’s Association, and many other bodies. He has credit for many accomplishments while serving as President of the Company as well as holding the title of Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners. In addition, Chief Young was a Charter Member of the Keansburg FD Volunteer EMS, helping to initiate the Unit in 1998 and served as Company President. During his tenure as Department Chief he was a key figure by being very involved with reigniting the EMS Cadet program. He truly believed in the investment of our youth to be the future of the Department. Warren was a successful self-employed business owner of Young’s Vending Company INC. for over 50 years, and worked for 17 years as an Operator with Monmouth County Bridge Department on the Oceanic and Sea Bright Bridge. Predeceased by his loving wife Virginia in 2010 and his parents Warren & Rita Young Sr. Warren was a true gentleman and would help anyone all while having a smile on his face. Surviving are his loving children Warren Young III & his wife Sarah of Wyckoff, Jeannine & her husband Edward Sciahetano of Middletown, Karen Young & her fiancé Thomas Kennedy Jr. of Keansburg Warren’s family was his world and his grandchildren Collin and Rebecca Sciahentano brighten his life and were a warm constant joy. Collin and Rebecca will truly miss their Papa. Warren is also survived by his loving sister Kathy and her husband Bill Smith of Middletown, Maureen and her husband Wilbur Wire of Belford, and brother Russell Young of Highlands His sisters and brother in laws Pete Graham of Sea Bright, Geraldine Weber of Leonardo, Barbara Memoli of Middletown and many nieces and nephews.
