Wilson M. Hooblal Singh

March 3, 1944 - December 28, 2021

Wilson Michael Hooblal Singh , was born on March 3rd 1944 in the town of Duncan Village , Trinidad. He was born to his mother Rosie Hooblal Singh and his father Bertie Ragbir. He had two brother’s Hudson and Dixon Hooblal and five sister’s Ella, Gene, Glory, Margaret and Annie Hooblal. He learned the trade of welding while he lived in Trinidad. He later became a merchant marine and traveled to many countries. He came to the United States in October 1974 and met the love of his life Gloria A. Federowski on the Staten Island Ferry. He married Gloria on June 18, 1978. They had their first daughter Tesia Marie Singh on 9/9/1979 , His second daughter Melissa Lee Singh was born 6/1/1981 and his third child was his son Christopher Michael Singh born on 6/5/1989. Wilson worked as a welder at Caddell Dry Dock in Staten Island before he began working for Local 1 Plumbers Union in NYC. He worked as welder and remained there until he retired in 2011. Wilson had a love for soccer and cricket and many different genres of music, but his favorite was Soca, Calypso and Steel Pan music. He embraced his Trinidadian heritage and instilled his culture and values upon his children. Wilson was a man of God he taught his children to have faith in the lord and to treat others with respect and to be humble. Wilson was an amazing husband and father he was the true definition of what a man should be. He was loving, loyal, hardworking, a protector and wonderful provider for his family. He lived and died for his family they meant the world to him. He is survived by his sister Annie Persad and her husband , his brother in law Joseph Nuchadee and his many nieces and nephews .His brother –in- law Stanley Federowski. His eldest daughter Tesia Marie Singh , his second daughter Melissa Lee Singh and her husband Ganesh Samnarine. And his heart and soul his five year grandson Elijah Michael Singh Sanmarine.
