Annette Ciangiotto Smith September 11, 1939 – July 25, 2026 Annette (Nettie) Ciangiotto Smith, 86, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026. She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Charles Smith Jr (1998); her parents, Josephine and Giacomo Ciangiotto; her brothers, Robert Ciangiotto (2005) and John Ciangiotto (2020); and her sister-in-law, Lisa Norris, the beloved wife of her brother Robert (2021). Annette is survived by her daughter, Alicia; her cherished grandchildren, Timothy and Alexandra; her sister-in-law, Angela; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Annette was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy was caring for her family and playing bingo. She played an instrumental role in raising her cherished grandchildren, Timothy and Alexandra, surrounding them with unconditional love, guidance, and support. Her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her. Annette was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. She began her career working at a glass manufacturing plant before pursuing her passion as a hairstylist for many years. Later, she worked at Foodtown in Port Monmouth until her retirement. No matter where life took her, she was known for her warm smile, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness. In her free time, Annette enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas and game shows, listening to Elvis Presley, taking cruises, spending time at the beach, and playing bingo. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures and treasured every moment spent with her family and friends. Annette will be remembered for her loving heart, her selfless nature, and the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. While she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her greatest accomplishment was the love she gave her family. That love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Visitation Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Ave Hazlet Township, NJ 07734. Prayer services will be held during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are welcome, though floral tributes are also appreciated.
