John F. Kelley Sr.

John F. Kelley Sr., age 62, passed away on Thursday, December 31st, 2020 with his family’s hearts, and souls guiding him to peace. He was born on May 15th, 1958 in Red Bank, NJ. He grew up in West Keansburg, NJ, and he had attended high school in Hazlet, NJ at Raritan High School where he had played Football throughout those years. He resided in Union Beach, NJ for over thirty years. He is pre-deceased by his parents Edward J. Kelley Sr., Estelle M. Pickens, his father in law Jay G. Doran, and his brothers Edward J. Kelley Jr., and Daniel C. Kelley. John is survived by his lifelong soul mate Terri Lynn Kelley, his son John F. Kelley Jr., his daughters Krystal L. Kelley, and Stephanie M. Kelley, his daughter in law Ashley N. Kelley, his son in laws Timothy J. Serafin, and Torey D. Underwood, and is beloved grand children Adriana J. Kelley, Andraya M. Serafin, Alexa L. Serafin, and Timothy J. Serafin Jr., and of course his two dogs King, and Reese. He is also survived by many cousins, and beloved friends who meant the world to him. John had one of the purest, and kindest hearts, and was a true family man. He was a loving, yet sometimes annoying husband, father, and friend considering his jokester personality. He was the best father any child could ask for, and the ultimate Pop Pop to his grand children. He had spent many years of his life enduring his love for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with his beloved brothers of ESMC, who have always been extended family. He was a truck driver for many years driving 18 wheel trucks through numerous states. He then decided to stay closer to home, which is when he began his career with the Department of Public Works in Union Beach for ten years where he developed many close friendships. He retired at the age of 54, which he went on to spend his well deserved free time in his pool during the Summer with his family, and his Winters in his garage with his wood burning stove on, smoking a cigar, and watching football games. Each November, he would plan a family trip to one of his favorite places, Aruba. John always enjoyed planning family vacations, and making sure that his family had many memories to hold onto forever. He had to see a smile on everyone’s face, no matter what it took. It didn’t take much effort for John to make other’s smile, especially with his constant obnoxious singing, witty jokes and comments, as well as his prankster antics. John was one of a kind in every way. His height, size, and look was always deceiving because he had the kindest soul, and was a child at heart. He was known for making everyone laugh, and his devotion and loyalty to his family, and friends. John has touched many hearts, and has impacted every person’s life who had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service is pending.
